Abstract

One of the national roads in Central Kalimantan Barat Kotawaringin were roads Runtu - Simpang Runtu. The condition of roads is currently inadequate for the development of traffic, signage damage to the wear layer, ie cracks, hollows or grooves lengthwise direction of the road, potholes, and jembulan asphalt. This is a problem that is quite disturbing for road users. Damage to the one caused by the vehicle load exceeds the capacity of the traffic received pavement surface. This affects the underlying pavement structure, each layer pavement structure will experience stress and strain, stress and strain maximum value are directly under the load of the vehicle. Stress and strain in the pavement structure is not only influenced by the traffic load that occurs on the surface but is also affected by the thickness of each layer, layer types and others.The purpose of this study are (1) Getting the big load of the vehicle which can cause damage to the road in 2016 (2) Getting the size of a layer of asphalt pavement newly able to support the weight of the vehicle and get the size of a thick layer of pavement to the aggregate class A and aggregate class B, (3 ) Knowing how the costs required for the implementation of periodic maintenance work Road segment Runtu - Sp.Runtu West Kotawaringin.After calculation, then obtained: (1) Large load of the vehicle which can cause harm to the pavement on the road Runtu - Simpang Runtu recorded during 2015 and an estimated 9,925 vehicles for the year 2016 increased to 10 364 vehicles with a load of 9084.40 tons (2) the size of new asphalt pavement layer for the next 10-year plan that is able to withstand the weight of the vehicle at this time is to add a new pavement surface layer (Overlay), in the form of AC-WC surface layer thickness of 10.50 cm, 10.00 cm thick Base AC, Lapis aggregate 20.00 cm thick class A and class B aggregate thickness of 20.00 cm (CBR 70%) (3) Costs required for periodic maintenance work Road Runtu - Simpang Runtu in 2016 is Rp. 34,436,104,767.40. Suggested (1) Use of vehicles with axle load of three highly recommended to be used as a conveyance of material goods, with the use of triple axle chassis, the division in load will be lighter (2) The use of weighbridges for large vehicles such as trucks, should be used, because the presence post weighbridge surveillance of axle pressure limits can be implemented.
