Abstract
The modeling profession demands an ideal physical appearance according to industry and social standards. This pressure has the potential to trigger a tendency towards Body Dysmorphic Disorder. This study aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and fear of negative evaluation on the tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder in female models. The study subjects included active female models aged 18–30 years and were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through an online questionnaire using a Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman's Rho correlation test. The results showed that perfectionism and fear of negative evaluation have a positive and significant relationship with the tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder. This finding indicates that the higher the level of perfectionism and fear of negative evaluation, the higher the tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder in female models. This study concludes that perfectionism and fear of negative evaluation play a significant role in increasing the tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder in female models.
