Abstract

Individuals with chronic illnesses often depend on family caregivers for daily activities due to the severity of their illness. This role places a heavy physical, emotional, and economic burden on caregivers, making family caregivers vulnerable to a decline in well-being, such as depression, fatigue, or financial problems. This condition can reduce the quality of care, increase the risk of disease relapse in patients, and disrupt overall family functioning. This study aims to determine the relationship between resilience and hope with flourishing in family caregivers of individuals with chronic illnesses, both partially and simultaneously. The study uses a correlational quantitative approach with purposive sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 85 family caregivers, calculated using G*Power with an effect size of 0.43, statistical power of 0.95, and probability error of 0.05 based on previous studies. The measurement tools included the Secure Flourishing Index (SFI), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and Herth Hope Index (HHI). The results showed a very significant simultaneous relationship between resilience and hope with flourishing (F=55.504 with significance p=0.000). Partially, resilience was positively and significantly related to flourishing (t = 3.500 with significance p = 0.001), as was hope (t = 3.893 with significance p = 0.000).
