Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan kecemasan sosial dengan self presentation pada dewasa awal pengguna second account Instagram. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan 109 responden berusia 18-25 tahun di Surabaya. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala self presentation berdasarkan teori Yang dan Brown (2015) dengan reliabilitas α = 0,952, dan skala Kecemasan Sosial berdasarkan teori Leary dan Kowalski (1995) dengan reliabilitas α = 0,853. Analisis data menggunakan regresi sederhana dengan SPSS 25.0. Hasil menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan antara kecemasan sosial dengan self presentation (F = 60,505; p = 0,000; β = 0,601). Kecemasan sosial memberikan kontribusi 36,1% terhadap self presentation. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi kecemasan sosial, semakin tinggi kecenderungan melakukan self presentation melalui second account sebagai ruang ekspresi yang lebih aman dengan audiens terbatas.
