Abstract

Stres akademik merupakan kondisi psikologis yang umum dialami mahasiswa baru akibat tuntutan akademik serta proses adaptasi terhadap lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Perubahan sistem pembelajaran, beban tugas, dan tuntutan pencapaian prestasi dapat memicu tekanan yang berdampak pada kondisi emosional mahasiswa. Faktor internal seperti kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy dipandang berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa mengelola stres akademik secara adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa baru di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 140 mahasiswa baru yang berasal dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Surabaya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan skala stres akademik, skala kecerdasan emosional, dan skala self-efficacy yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik regresi ganda dengan bantuan program IBM SPSS 22 for Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan stres akademik. Secara parsial, kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy masing-masing memiliki hubungan negatif dan signifikan dengan stres akademik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy mahasiswa, maka semakin rendah tingkat stres akademik yang dialami. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan aspek psikologis mahasiswa baru dalam menghadapi tuntutan akademik.
