Abstract

Siswa atlet taekwondo dihadapkan pada tuntutan ganda, yaitu menjaga performa olahraga sekaligus memenuhi kewajiban akademik. Tekanan tersebut dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya burnout, yaitu kondisi kelelahan emosional, penurunan pencapaian pribadi, serta devaluasi terhadap aktivitas olahraga. Hardiness merupakan salah satu faktor kepribadian yang diyakini dapat membantu individu bertahan dan mengelola stres secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara hardiness dengan burnout pada siswa atlet taekwondo di Kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 285 siswa atlet sebagai partisipan yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu skala hardiness berdasarkan teori Kobasa (1979) dan skala burnout berdasarkan Athlete Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ) dari Raedeke & Smith (2001). Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Spearman Rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai korelasi Rxy = 0,775 dengan signifikansi p = 0,001 (p < 0,01). Hasil ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara hardiness dengan burnout, yang bertolak belakang dengan hipotesis awal yang mengajukan adanya hubungan negatif. Dengan demikian, hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dinyatakan ditolak.
