Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being among volunteers in Surabaya. This quantitative study involved 111 participants, active volunteers under Gesit Kitabisa.com, aged 20–40. Participants were selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale to measure levels of prosocial behavior and psychological well-being. The analysis revealed a highly significant positive relationship between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being, with a correlation coefficient of 0.619 and a significance level of p = 0.000 (p < 0.01). This finding suggests that the higher an individual's level of prosocial behavior, the higher their psychological well-being. Volunteering activities conducted with empathy and altruistic motivation have been shown to positively impact social relationships, meaning in life, and personal development, which are essential components of psychological well-being. These results strengthen empirical evidence that prosocial behavior not only provides social benefits but also improves the psychological well being of the participants.
