Abstract

Mahasiswa sering menghadapi kecemasan komunikasi interpersonal yang dapat memengaruhi interaksi sosial dan proses pembelajaran mereka. Kepercayaan diri sering dianggap sebagai faktor penting dalam mengurangi kecemasan ini, namun pengaruhnya dapat dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dan kecemasan komunikasi interpersonal pada mahasiswa di Surabaya, serta menguji peran motivasi belajar sebagai variabel moderator. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain analisis regresi hierarki, penelitian ini melibatkan 384 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hubungan langsung antara kepercayaan diri dan kecemasan komunikasi interpersonal tidak signifikan (β = -0,08; p > 0,05). Namun, motivasi belajar terbukti memoderasi hubungan tersebut, dengan interaksi antara kepercayaan diri dan motivasi belajar menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kecemasan komunikasi interpersonal (β = -0,23; p < 0,05). Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya penguatan motivasi belajar dalam membantu mahasiswa mengelola kecemasan komunikasi interpersonal dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka.
