Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine whether there is a relationship between self-adjustment and social support with psychological well-being in new students, both partially and simultaneously. The research population was new students of the faculty of psychology at Universitas 17 August 1945 Surabaya, with a total research respondent of 162 students. The approach used is a correlational quantitative approach. This study uses 3 (three) measuring instruments, namely Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale, Inventory of New College Student Adjustment Scale, and The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Scale. The results of the study simultaneously showed a significant relationship between self-adjustment and social support variables with psychological well-being (F = 128.453 and Sig. 0.000 <0.05). Partially, the self-adjustment variable with psychological well-being showed significant results with a positive direction (t = 5.721 with a Sig. value of 0.000 <0.05) and the social support variable with psychological well-being showed significant results with a positive direction (t = 9.789 with a Sig. value of 0.000 <0.05).
