Abstract

Paper company PT. MXYZ is a large industry known as a paper company but actually the company produces various types of notebook paper, cardboard boxes, soda, and chlorine. Sample selection is carried out in the oven process because in this process there are many product defects due to the instability of the oven machine which causes the process to repeat. The method used in this study is the FMEA method which includes a method for making fishbone diagrams, calculating RPN, and making P- Chart control maps. The data taken from January to May 2024 is the output data of the oven machine by two operators with the number of defects (%) and output in each shift for six full months. All of these methods are used as they should be with the initial condition of product failure reaching the highest figure of 22,8% in monthly data collection and after a trial test after maintenance of the oven machine, it decreased every week to get the highest result, namely 16%.
