Abstract
PT. XYZ is a Manufacturing Company engaged in the field produces various types of paper, notebooks and chemicals. This research aims to identify and reduce waste in the manual insert area by applying lean manufacturing principles. The waste that was found was wasteful transportation such as taking trolleys and picking up materials, as well as wasteful movement in the manual work process. This insert has various activities that involve work. I often experience placing bookmarks which always turn the body so it is not ergonomic. By using the Nordic Body Map method, it was used to analyze the risk level on a Likert scale before repair, which was 80.66 and after repair by redesigning the L letter table so that it could decrease by 40. The design of the table redesign was based on anthropometric dimensions with hand reach results (JT ) 40.48 cm, standing hip height (TPB) 54.71 cm, hand span (RT) 45.82 cm. Furthermore, working time calculations using the MOST method showed that the average normal time for 4 order sorting operators before repairs was 43.2 sheets/shift, with a total output of 14,590 sheets in 7 working hours. After improving the work methods, the operators became 3 sorters, and 1 feeder role to help find material so that the average working time became 28.26 seconds/sheet so that the total output increased to 29,723 sheets. The results of this research show an increase in productivity of 51%.
