Abstract

Students active in organizations tend to procrastinate in doing their coursework, this procrastination is academic procrastination which can cause academic stress, because they feel pressured by a pile of assignments, therefore there is a need for good time management to reduce the tendency for academic procrastination. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the relationship between academic stress and time management and academic procrastination in students actively involved in organizations at PTN/PTS Surabaya. This research uses quantitative methods. The population in the study was 27,322 student organizations. Participants in the research were 350 student organizations using accidental sampling techniques. The research instrument used a Likert scale. The method used for data analysis is multiple regression with the help of SPSS version 25 for Windows. Simultaneous test results show that there is a positive relationship between academic stress and time management and academic procrastination of R aquare score skor 0,612 with a significance of 0.000 (P<0.05), so the first hypothesis is accepted. The partial test results show a positive relationship between academic stress and academic procrastination, with a correlation of 0.263 with a significance level of 0.000, so the second hypothesis is accepted. Furthermore, there is no significant relationship between time management and academic procrastination, with a correlation of -0.14 and a significance level of 0.571, so the third hypothesis is rejected. Based on the research results, the author hopes that the research subjects will be able to minimize academic procrastination behavior, namely by consciously delaying doing academic assignments, because this will cause negative impacts that will be felt by the procrastinator.
