Abstract
The purpose of this research is to see whether narcissistic tendencies mediate the relationship between fear of missing out and psychological well-being. Participants in this researchwere 348 active students in the city of Surabaya. The research design used is correlational research using mediator variables. The sample collection technique uses a probability sampling technique, with a simple random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is the Psychological Well Being Scale by Ryff (1995) with 42 items, the fear of missing out measuring instrumentcompiled by researchers referring to the theory of Przybylski et al (2013) with 20 items, and the measuring instrumentfor narcissism tendencies compiled by researchers referring to Raskin & Terry's theory (1989) totaling 33 items. The results of this study show that narcissistic tendencies partially mediate the relationship between fear of missing out and psychological well-being with a total effect of-0.075 with a p value <0.001. This means that the direct effect and indirect effect offear of missing out on psychological well-being produce a significant negative total effect.
