Abstract

The Indonesian Law Number 6 of 2014 gives villages more autonomy in managing their local community's interests. However, the implementation of these regulations has not been able to meet all the community's needs in 73,000 villages and 8,000 sub-districts. The current village government system is outdated and does not align with modern times. This research aimed to investigate the impact of competence, organizational commitment, information technology, and good village governance on village financial management and performance. The study involved 269 participants, including village heads, secretaries, and treasurers from 273 villages in Gerobogan District, Central Java. The results revealed that competence had a significant negative impact on village financial management, while organizational commitment, information technology, and good village governance had a significant positive impact on village financial management. Additionally, competence, information technology, organizational commitment, good village governance, and village financial management had a significant positive impact on village financial performance. The mediation analysis indicated that village financial management did not mediate the effect of competence and good village governance on village financial performance. However, it mediated the effect of organizational commitment on village financial performance in a positive and significant manner.
