Abstract

This research aims to find out the relationship between social comparison and body dissatisfaction in mothers. This analysis uses the independent variable social comparison with the dependent variable body dissatisfaction. This penetration uses a type of quantitative correlational research. The sampling technique in this study is a saturated sample technique with a total of 140 samples of mothers. The study has two instruments: the Social comparison Scale and the Body Dissatsifaction Scale. Data analysis techniques using Spearman's Rho correlation analysis test with the help of SPSS version 16.0 for windows. The correlation coefficient resulted at 0.646, which indicates that the study has a positive relationship with a significant scale of 0,000 (p<0,01). The higher the social comparison, the higher the body dissatisfaction in mothers. And the other way around, the lower the social comparison, the lower the body dissatisfaction in mothers.
