Abstract

The rapid development of today's media technology makes the dissemination of information faster and wider to various parts of the world. The diversity of information means that South Korea can easily introduce its culture to the rest of the world. The Korean wave is a phenomenon in Asia related to the widespread trend of South Korean pop culture products which include boy and girl groups often called K-pop idols. The increasingly widespread K-pop entertainment industry has caused South Korea to become a fashion mecca for several groups, especially young people. One of the KPOP idols who is currently popular is ENHYPEN, which is a Korean idol group consisting of 7 people whose presence in the concept of fashion is increasingly developing, especially in terms of how a man wears his clothes. This research focuses on their representation in the Paradoxxx Invasion MV which shows that men can wear cheerful clothes without having to lose a man's masculinity. So this research uses an analysis of Stuart Hall's reception through an encoding�decoding process on SM Stan's reception of the MV Paradoxxx Invasion that is displayed. The research results found one dominant informant who agreed that the music video was in the masculine category, five negotiating informants who had the same opinion that the music video was in the soft masculine category, and one opposition informant who rejected the music video as being in the masculine category.
