Abstract
PT Elang Jagad is a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of metal products. Producing metal plates with several different sizes and plate thicknesses. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the cause of defective products in the blanking process is an inappropriate machine setting error and lack of maintenance of the machine. The proposal given is to carry out regular machine maintenance activities before overall production so that if during the production process no defects are found, the operator can see the history data to equalize the machine settings for future production.Based on the implementation of the proposed improvements, the number of defects per month decreased from 308 plates to 217 plates in one month.a day during production decreased from 11 plates to 8 plates. Stamping machines are the main machines that move continuously so it is not uncommon for some machines to experience frequent damage. To overcome these problems, this study tries to propose a machine maintenance system using the preventive maintenance method to maximize machine performance. Based on the time between damage in accordance with the distribution that has been selected, the analysis results obtained by planning scheduling using the Preventive Maintenance method, namely the optimal time for maintenance of the dies component machine is once every 13 days. The value of the reliability level that has been achieved is 62.36%.
