Abstract
In this modern era, the development of science and technology has led to an increase in human activity followed by a rapid increase in vehicle capacity and a decrease in pedestrians. So the need for transportation will increase. In Surabaya, transportation has become a primary need for the people of a very dense city. And the existing situation at the Lakarsantri - Driyorejo intersection uses a 3-phase signal with intersection type 311, which if one arm of the intersection is in the green phase, the other two phases are in the red phase and vice versa. This intersection is very congested during peak hours such as in the morning at 07.00-08.00 when it is usually crowded due to departure from work, school and so on and in the afternoon at 12.00-13.00 when office breaks, school hours. And in the afternoon, namely at 16.00-17.00 at this time usually many people go home from work and also go home from school. The method used in this research is the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI 1997). This study conducted a traffic survey of the number of vehicles passing, the capacity of the intersection, and the degree of saturation. From the results of the study, the highest traffic volume at the Lakarsantri - Driyorejo intersection, Surabaya City occurred on Thursday at 17.00-18.00 WIB Lakarsantri Road (West) amounting to 630 smp / hour, Menganti Road (East) amounting to 473 smp / hour, and Driyorejo Road of and Driyorejo Road at 657 smp/hour. And has an average degree of saturation of 0.95.
