Abstract
PT. Varia Usaha Beton is a manufacturing company that provides concrete products. On the concrete production line in Gresik, the company makes various types of concrete, one of which is precast concrete. In carrying out its manufacturing activities, there are obstacles when carrying out production, where there are orders whose production has not been fully realized. These obstacles occur because there are various factors, such as unfavorable weather due to rain. , because the production is carried out in an open area. Apart from that, the workload aspect can also affect production demand which cannot be realized in its entirety because workers expend too much energy resulting in workers not being optimal and the limited number of workers resulting in demand not being met. To address this problem, researchers conducted a workload analysis on precast concrete production activities for each product and determined the number of workers needed according to production demand. The method used is using working time measurements and the Full Time Equivalent method to analyze workload and determine the number of workers according to the workload value index. The results obtained after data processing and data calculations were carried out on operators who worked for 8 hours and 12 hours of overtime work, it was found that different labor requirements and different workload conditions at 8 hours of work, work elements experienced 13 overloads and 2 normal ones. 12 hours of overtime work found 13 overloaded work elements and 2 experienced underload. The comparison is that the workload obtained from working for 12 hours was smaller than 8 hours of work, and the need for workers was found for 8 hours of work as many as 52 people while 12 hours of work was 33 people, the company can choose these 2 alternatives by considering other aspects.
