Abstract

Safety Guarding adalah alat pelindung mesin yang bertujuan untuk memilimalisir potensi bahaya yang terdapat pada mesin T able saw Machine. Dengan mengurangi potensi bahaya yang dapat menghilangkan jam kerja operator akibat kecelakaan kerja yang berakibat mengurangi produktivitas di Departemen Bata Bentuk, PT. Benteng Api Technic. Dengan merancang Safety Guarding diharapkan dapat mengatasi masalah yang ada, dengan melakukan observasi langsung dan mengumpulan data statistik kecelakaan kerja di PT. Benteng Api Technic sebagai penunjang penelitian, melakukan penyaringan konsep, identifikasi spesifikasi, penetapan spesifikasi, uji coba Prototipe, dan evaluasi hasil penerapan safety guarding table saw machine untuk mendapatkan hasil yang diharapkan. Terdapat 13 kasus kecelakaan kerja pada tahun 2022 di PT. Benteng Api Technic karena kurangnya keamanan pada mesin yang beresiko, sehingga sebanyak 20 hari total kehilangan waktu kerja. Pengoprasian Table Saw Machine-pun dialihkan dengan penggunaan Jigsaw sebagai alat potong kayu sebagai upaya mengurangi angka kecelakaan kerja, namun produktivitas Departemen Bata Bentuk juga ikut menurun. Dengan implementasi safety guarding, yaitu untuk mengembalikan aktivitas semula pada Table Saw Machine dan peningkatan produktivitas Di PT. Benteng Api Technic yang sebelumnya menurun. Sehingga dari penelitian ini dihasilkan suatu konsep pelindung mesin yang efektif untuk menghalau kases yang tidak sah yang menyebabkan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja, menghalau paparan material dari aktivitas pemotongan, tanpa mengurangi kinerja pada Table Saw Machine, meningkatkan keamanan pengguna dan meningkatnya reputasi perusahaan.
