Abstract

This study aims to explain the relationship between self-concept and gratitude with optimism in production employees. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the lack of optimism of employees who work in a company because of dissatisfaction with the career they are pursuing. An attitude of optimism is deemed necessary to be owned by every employee who works to maintain performance and can generate positive energies in the place where the employee works. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative. The population of this study were all production employees at the research location. Participants in this study totaled 70 people obtained by means of saturated sampling technique.. Simultaneous correlation test between self-concept (X1) and gratitude (X2) with optimism (Y) using the help of the JASP (Jeffreys' Amazing Statistics Program) program obtained a score of BF10=1,000 (BF10≥1,000), which means self-concept and gratitude together can be a significant predictor of optimism in employees. This means that the higher a person's self-concept and gratitude, the higher the optimism they have, and vice versa. The R Square score of 0.538 can be interpreted as self-concept and gratitude together have an influence of 53.8% on optimism, while the remaining 46.2% can be influenced by other variables. The suggestion from this study is that employees always maintain a sense of gratitude or gratitude by always getting closer to God Almighty and also forming a deeper understanding of their self-concept by participating in positive self�concept training both provided by the company and by other agencies outside company.
