Abstract

Altruistic behavior is behavior that is carried out voluntarily to improve the welfare of others without expecting any rewards or benefits for those who help and often requires sacrifice in doing so. To carry out their duties as volunteers, individuals must have self-confidence or self-efficacy in their abilities. Individuals have confidence in their knowledge, self-confidence that they can help people who are exposed to Covid-19. Altruism behavior by individuals also plays a role in feelings of happiness. Volunteers who have happy feelings will tend to help others who need help, when volunteers are in a stressful situation, with the happiness felt by volunteers stressful situations can be minimized by staying focused on providing help to people exposed to Covid-19 . The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and happiness on altruistic behavior among Covid-19 volunteers in Riau province. The research subjects are volunteers with a minimum D3 background in health workers spread across Riau Province. This study uses a quantitative method with an explanatory survey approach. Data obtained by using a scale. Sampling using simple random sampling technique with the number of subjects as many as 53 people. The results showed that there was a significant relationship given by self-efficacy and happiness simultaneously on altruism behavior. The conclusion in this study is that there is a simultaneous relationship between self-efficacy and happiness on altruism behavior in Covid-19 volunteers in Riau Province. Volunteers who have high efficacy can carry out their duties and responsibilities with confidence. The presence of high self-efficacy and high feelings of happiness (happiness) together in each volunteer will be able to predict the emergence of altruism behavior. High altruism in volunteers will make volunteers voluntarily help people exposed to Covid-19 and put aside the existing risks. Thus, if the self-efficacy and happiness of Covid-19 volunteers in Riau Province change, the behavior of altruism will also change. These changes are positive and unidirectional, so that if self-efficacy and happiness increase, the behavior of altruism also increases.
