Abstract

Development and economic development in an area can not be separated from the role of infrastructure and facilities. Roads and bridges are a means of connecting from one region to another, with diverse user needs. The matter will make changes to the type of transportation of goods and services, this will increase the volume and weight of loads which overload roads and bridges. The conditions of use, the road often suffers damage that is very disturbing to endanger road and bridge users (Evan, 2016). The achievement strategy is to develop six Indonesian economic corridors in the form of growth centers that must be implemented in an integrated, not fragmented manner to maximize the acceleration and expansion of economic development throughout the country, and also to strengthen and accelerate the ability of human resources (HR) and national science and technology in the economic corridor. One of the strategic plans (RENSTRA) of Gresik Regency is to improve services to the community. The plan was then translated again by the Gresik Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Office. A pavement condition survey needs to be conducted periodically both structural and non-structural to determine the level of existing road services. Nonstructural (functional) examinations, among others, aim to examine roughness, roughness, and skid resistance. Measuring the level of road surface evenness will be useful in efforts to determine road rehabilitation and maintenance programs. Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is an estimate of viii ix road conditions with a rating system to state the actual pavement conditions with reliable and objective data. The PCI method was developed in the United States by the U.S Army Corp of Engineers for pavement airports, highways and parking areas, because with this method data and estimates of field conditions can be summarized as follows: 1. Identification of the types of damage that occurred on the Regency road section in Gresik Regency, in accordance with ATM D6433-11 and the Bina Marga Guidelines, and clarified by Shanin (1994). M.Y. 2. The magnitude of the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) of the road segment that is the object of research with the highest 90 (Excelent) and the lowest 26.5 (fail / fail). 3. Recommendations that must be made in handling damage that occurs on Regency roads in Gresik Regency, are several sections that are routinely maintained and only one section needs to be rehabilitated, namely section 06 of Wotan - Petung road.
