Abstract

The job that is most sought after by women is mostly an SPG (Sales Promotion Girls). The way it works is easy and does not require very advanced skills and only relies on capital to have a beautiful and sexy appearance. The most important thing is that it must be able to achieve the company targets that have been determined, which is enough. SPG is a profession that operates in the field of marketing or promotion of a product. The educational background of most SPGs is at SMA (High School) level. SPG is required to communicate well in order to convince consumers both in verbal and non-verbal communication. Therefore, SPG must be able and able to balance with body language in order to have an effect on consumers. Behind the way they dress beautifully, they also harbor feelings of shame and fear when working. The goal is only to earn a living to meet the family's needs. Sometimes they have pleasant or scary experiences. impolite words, odd physical touches have become food at work. This attitude of professionalism must be taken as a guide to ensure safety. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The aim of this research is to see from the perspective of SPGs (Sales Promotion Girls) how they interpret the phenomenon of verbal and non-verbal harassment that occurs in the workplace. The method used in this research is the Phenomenological research method by Edmund Husserl and is aligned with the Dramaturgical theoretical approach by Erving Goffman. The research results show that because of motive and in order to motive, there are different front and back stages in terms of appearance and lifestyle for each informant and the meaning of their work.
