Abstract

This technology in welding is a part of technology in manufacturing and welding should pay attention to the suitability of the welding structure in order to achieve the best results, and welding also needs to pay attention to the most important things, including the efficiency of welding, saving energy, and relatively lower prices. cheap. The purpose of compiling this report is to be able to find out the effect of metal shielded arc welding (SMAW) using variations in heating temperature of 450,500 and 550 as well as variations of cooling media with water, oil and colland water on the tensile strength and microstructure of aluminum. alloy 6061, Examination of the results of the weld is a destructive test method in the form of a tensile test (tensile test). and this research also aims to complete the thesis as a graduation requirement. The cooling process is carried out with aluminum alloy 6061, using water as a cooling medium, SAE 20 oil and water cooland cooling. This process is useful for increasing the tensile strength of Allaluminum Alloy 6061 without changing the overall chemistry. The method chosen in this study is an experiment, in which the researcher makes a control alias control using the experimental method, the aim is to find out possible causal relationships and also to determine the variations and methods to be used.
