Abstract
Consumptive behavior is the desire to consume products or goods in excess without knowing the benefits of the goods or products purchased. Consumptive behavior can be influenced by external factors and internal factors.One of the external factors is conformity. Students often do conformity to adjust to their environment. Based on the phenomena and presentation above, the researcher is interested in conducting a study on the relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior in online shop users. The implementation of this research uses a quantitative research approach. The sampling technique in this study used incidental sampling with a total sample of 158 students using online shop. The results in this study indicate that conformity to consumptive behavior in online shop users obtains a correlation coefficient value of 0.647 with a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.01) there is a significant positive relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior in online shop users. This can be interpreted if the higher the conformity, the higher the consumptive behavior that occurs in students and vice versa, the lower the conformity, the lower the consumptive behavior that occurs in students.
