Abstract
The growth in the volume of motorized vehicles, both two-wheeled and four- wheeled motorized vehicles far exceeds the growth of roads. As a result of this condition, traffic congestion on the highway has become a daily sight which causes many drivers to behave aggressively on the streets. A driver's behavior is said to be aggressive if done intentionally, tends to increase the risk of collisions and is motivated by impatience, resentment, animosity, and or efforts to save time (Tasca, 2000). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between aggressive driving behavior based on age and education level in online motorcycle taxi drivers. This research is a quantitative correlational study with subjects as many as 100 online motorcycle taxi drivers in Surabaya by taking a sample using a questionnaire. The instrument in this study used a scale and questionnaire. The questionnaire is used to measure age with education while the scale is to measure aggressive driving. The results of the study for education level showed a correlation coefficient (rxy) = -0.441 with p = 0.000; (p <0.05). This means that there is a significant correlation between education and aggressive driving towards the negative which means that if education is low then aggressive driving is high, and vice versa. At the age level, the correlation coefficient (rxy) = -060 is obtained with p = 0.520 (p> 0.05), which means there is no relationship between the age level and aggressive driving.
