Abstract

Based on the results of research and discussion a conclusion can be drawn that there is a negative relationship between self-concept and the tendency of cyberbullying behavior so that the hypothesis is accepted. That is, the higher the self-concept, the lower the tendency for cyberbullying behavior. Fiits (1971) said that self-concept has a strong influence on someone's behavior, if someone perceives himself as a good person compared to others, although in this case it is not necessarily true, usually the behavior that a person displays is related to the deficiencies he perceives subjectively. so that a person's behavior is related to ideas about oneself. Cyberbullying can be interpreted as defamation in the form of text or images (including photos and videos) through the internet, cellphones, or other electronic media. The increasingly widespread social networking users such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and so on make many people open information about themselves. Personal information if used by irresponsible people can be misused (Agatson, Kowalski, & Limber, 2007). Based on research that has been done shows that there is a significant negative relationship between self-concept and the tendency of cyberbullying behavior in high school students in Kudus. This has been proven by the correlation value obtained rxy = - 0.104 with 0.024 (with p <0.05) using Pearson product moment correlation test which means the higher the selfconcept, the lower the tendency of cyberbullying behavior.
