Abstract

Cathodic protection is a thermodynamic corrosion rate control method by treating metal structures as cathodes. This method is done by immersing the steel plate into an electrolytic solution. Cathodic protection with the sacrificial anode method was carried out on SS41 steel plates with variations of NaCl solution with immersion time of 336 to 432 hours with Al6061 sacrificial anode. From the results of the analysis using the weight loss method, Al6061 anode is able to reduce the corrosion rate of steel plates up to 78%.
