Abstract

In this modern age, one of the challenges we face is the presence of energy supplies. Electricity is one of the sources of energy that becomes the primary need in daily life. Steam Power Plant or PLTU is one of the power plants that rely on kinetic energy from steam to generate electricity. The main structure of this power plant is the generator connected to the turbine. The turbine is rotating, influenced by the steam produced. The final task we created is how to explain the Rankine Cycle process in detail with a simple concept so that it can be easily understood by claimants, especially in the field of energy conversion. The learning concept we offer in this final task is through a miniature design or a simple prototype. From the data analysis and design above can be drawn the conclusion that the heating time of the boiler (Presto Pot) affects the resulting pressure. With varization the heating time of 30 minutes produces a pressure of 0.5 Bar which is equivalent to 2.5 Psia and a temperature of 111.61°C. However, the generator does not generate electricity and the LED does not turn on. For a heating time of 45 minutes, the Boiler produces a pressure of 1 Bar or equivalent to 4.5 Psia and a temperature of 120.42°C. LED mounted on the generator, lit. That means the generator works fine. In warming time 60 minutes the pressure produces 1.2 Bar or 7.4 Psia with a temperature of 123.46°C. Based on the results of the experiment, the boiler (Panci Presto) is only able to produce pressure of 1.2 bar and over 60 minutes there has been a steam disposal through the hole in the lid of the presto pot.
