Abstract
In order to support integrated urban infrastructure development by the Central Kalimantan provincial government through the Department of Public Works Highways Central Kalimantan province carried out road improvement project to support the economic development especially in the area Katingan. One of the roads in the province of Central Kalimantan Katingan were roads Pundu - Tumbang Samba II. The condition of roads is currently inadequate for the development, road cracks, potholes and bumpy, a problem that is quite disturbing for road users majors Pundu - Tumbang Samba 2. Of these problems is necessary to improve the way in road Pundu - Tumbang Samba 2 in Katingan, namely Pundu Road Improvement Program - Tumbang Samba 2 with a total length of 12.50 km, to get the most economically between flexible pavement and rigid pavement. The purpose of this study are (1) do an analysis of reckoning flexible pavement of a road needed for construction of road improvement Pundu - Tumbang Samba 2 during the design life of 10 years, (2) an analysis of reckoning rigid pavement of road improvement Pundu - Tumbang Samba 2, (3) do an analysis invesment for flexible pavement, and rigid pavement of road Pundu - Tumbang Samba 2 so found the cost of the most economic.After planning a thick layer of pavement, it was found that (1) Thick layers of a road needed for construction of road improvement Pundu - Tumbang Samba II Katingan during the design life of 10 years and 40 years.
