Abstract
PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company specializing in the production of street lighting poles (Public Street Lighting/PJU). The companyfaces a high level of machine Downtime, resulting in pmduction targets not being achieved. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of production machines, identify the factors causing low machine effectiveness, and propose improvement strategies to enhance machine performance. This study employs the Overall Equipment Fffecliveness (OEE) method to evaluate machine effectiveness based On three indicators: availability, performance, and quality. Furthermore, the Total Productive &faintenance (RPM) approach through Six Big Losses analysis is applied to identify the major sowces of production losses. The analysis is supported by Mean Time To Repair (MITR), Mean Time Between Failure Ofl'BF), and 5 WhyAnalysis to determine the root causes of machine failuæs. The results indicate that the awrage OEE values ate 80.1096 for the cutting machine, 76.21%for the bending machine, and 66.29%for the drilling machine, all ofwhich are below the world-class OEE standard 0185% The dominantfactors contributing to low machine effectiveness are breakdown losses and reduced speed losses, mainly caused by inadequate prewntive maintenance, delayed component replacement, and insufcient machine inspection. The proposed improvements include implementing preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance, developing maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs), providing operator and technician training, ensuring the avuilability of critical spare parts, and establishing machine inspection checklists. The simulation results show that the OEE values improve to 86.20% for the cutting machine, 84.10% for the bending machine, and 81.30%for the drilling machine.
