Abstract
Waiheru is a village in Maluku, Ambon City. This village boasts a renowned coastal mangrove forest, a tourist attraction with potential for development due to its attractiveness and coastal features. Mangrove tourism offers significant potential for development. As a tourist attraction and a catalyst for strengthening the regional economy, this study aims to identify tourist locations using observation, qualitative primary and secondary data collection, and then review literature on sustainable tourism approaches. Sustainable tourism has become a primary focus for the government, developing and utilizing tourism facilities, making it a potential destination for preservation and development. With its abundant biodiversity, tourism has the potential to educate the public about environmental stewardship and the mangroves themselves. This site analysis contributes to tourism development and can be implemented in sustainable tourism practices at mangrove tourism sites. Waiheru in Ambon can provide economic and environmental benefits to the surrounding community.
