Abstract

Gajayana Stadium in Malang City is a historic sports facility currently experiencing physical degradation and reduced functionality. In response to the growing demand for modern sports infrastructure and to enhance athletic performance, a redesign is necessary to meet international standards such as those of FIFA. This final project aims to redesign Gajayana Stadium using a neo-vernacular architectural approach that integrates local cultural identity into a modern design. The study employs a descriptive-qualitative method through site analysis, user needs assessment, and comparative studies of similar stadiums. The design outcomes include upgraded sports, educational, and recreational facilities, along with user-friendly and inclusive site planning. The final design envisions the stadium as a collaborative, educational, and culturally representative space that supports athlete development and community participation.
