Abstract

This research aims to examine the strategies implemented by PDAM in providing clean water and adequate sanitation services in Labuan Bajo Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency. The research results show that PDAM has a number of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in carrying out its functions. PDAM’s main strengths include an extensive distribution network, strong regulatory support, adequate technical capabilities, stable raw water availability, and service responsiveness. However, the weaknesses faced include old infrastructure, limitations in human resource management, financial constraints, the distance of raw water sources from distribution centers, and frequent service disruptions. The opportunities that PDAM can take advantage of include regulatory support from the government, increasing public awareness about the importance of clean water, implementing innovative projects, partnerships with the private sector, and applying modern technology. On the other hand, the threats faced include the impact of climate change on raw water availability, limited water resources, less than optimal human resource management, as well as long-term cash flow and funding problems. By understanding these various factors, PDAMs can formulate more effective strategies to improve their performance and provide better clean water and sanitation services. Some of the recommendations put forward include rejuvenating infrastructure, increasing staff training and development, diversifying funding sources, adopting innovative technology, and strengthening collaboration with external partners. It is hoped that the implementation of these recommendations can support the sustainability of PDAM Labuan Bajo services in meeting the community’s need for clean water and sanitation in the area.
