Abstract

Quarter-life crisis is often experienced by individuals aged 20 to 30 years, especially among final year students who are facing major transitions in their lives, such as the transition from education to work. Feelings of confusion, anxiety, and fatigue related to the future are characteristic of this condition. When facing a quarter-life crisis, self-efficacy plays an important role in dealing with stress and difficulties that arise. This study aims to see the relationship between self-efficacy and quarter-life crisis in final year students in Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative method, the subjects of this study were 202 final year students in Surabaya. The data collection technique used the Likert Scale. The Self-Efficacy Scale used in this study was created by Bandura (1997) and the Quarter Life Criss scale used in this study was created by Robbins and Wilner (1997). The data analysis technique used was the Product Moment Correlation technique. The results obtained from the product moment correlation for the hypothesis indicate a significant negative relationship between Self-Efficacy and Quarter Life Crisis, assuming that the higher the self-efficacy, the lower the quarter life crisis and vice versa, with a significance value (r) of -0.325 and a significance level of 0.000 (p <0.05). The findings of this study indicate that increasing self-efficacy can reduce the impact of quarter life crisis on final year students. Students need to be aware of the importance of building self- efficacy to reduce anxiety and confusion about their future.
