Abstract
Pengelasan MIG (Metal Inert Gas) merupakan metode pengelasan menggunakan gas yang dihembuskan pada daerah yang akan di las. Gas yang digunakan adalah gas helium (He), gas Argon (Ar), dan gas karbondioksida (CO2). Teknik pengelasan telah digunakan secara global dalam hal penyambungan bahan kontruksi bangunan. Salah satu bahan kontruksi yang sering dijumpai adalah bahan kontruksi baja. Penggunaan baja pada bidang kontruksi sudah tidak bisa dihindari dan merupakan suatu keharusan dalam melakukan pengelasan. Untuk mengetahui ketangguhan dan struktur mikro pada sambungan las baja ST 37 peneliti menggunakan uji impact yang merupakan suatu pengujian yang mengukur ketahanan bahan terhadap beban kejut dimana pembebanan dilakukan secara perlahan-lahan. Pengujian ini merupakan suatu upaya untuk mensimulasikan kondisi operasi material yang sering ditemui dalam perlengkapan transportasi atau konstruksi dimana beban tidak selamanya terjadi secara perlahan-lahan melainkan datang secara tiba-tiba, dan uji metalografi merupakan suatu metode untuk menyelidiki atau mengamati struktur logam dengan menggunakan mikroskop optis kemudian dari hasil foto dianalisa struktur mikronya. Harga impak terbesar pada variasi kuat arus 90A dan media pendingin udara dengan harga impak sebesar 2,04 J/mm2. Persentase fasa ferit tertinggi pada variasi kuat arus 90A dengan media pendingin oli yaitu 48,50%. Sedangkan persentase fasa perlit terbesar pada variasi kuat arus 100A dengan media pendingin udara yaitu 76,08%.
