Abstract

Di era digital yang semakin berkembang, media sosial menjadi platform utama untuk mempromosikan berbagai hal, termasuk destinasi kuliner yang unik dan autentik. Salah satu contoh media sosialnya yaitu Instagram @surabaya_foodies. Adapun penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis resepsi remaja Surabaya terhadap postingan kuliner "hidden gem" di akun Instagram @surabaya_foodies. Dalam konteks ini, "hidden gem" merujuk pada tempat makan yang belum populer secara luas tetapi memiliki kualitas dan nilai yang luar biasa, baik dari segi cita rasa, keunikan menu, maupun atmosfer yang ditawarkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memahami bagaimana remaja merespons konten tersebut, baik dari sisi minat, interpretasi, hingga pengaruhnya terhadap keputusan mereka dalam memilih destinasi kuliner. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan wawancara mendalam untuk mengeksplorasi resepsi audiens. Data dikumpulkan dari lima informan yang berusia 12-18 tahun, memiliki minat terhadap kuliner, dan aktif mengakses akun @surabaya_foodies. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Teori Resepsi Stuart Hall untuk mengidentifikasi posisi audiens dalam kategori dominan, negosiasi, atau oposisi terhadap pesan yang disampaikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas remaja cenderung berada dalam posisi dominan, menerima pesan yang disampaikan tanpa banyak penolakan. Postingan seperti Kue Lumpur Bu Lilik, Waroeng Sambal Bakar dan Pusaka Bunda berhasil menarik minat audiens melalui narasi visual yang kuat, deskripsi cita rasa autentik, dan harga yang terjangkau. Temuan ini menegaskan peran media sosial dalam mempopulerkan hidden gem kuliner dan menciptakan pengalaman konsumsi yang berkelanjutan. Selain itu penelitian ini juga memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam memahami budaya konsumen melalui media sosial serta manfaat praktis dalam mempromosikan kuliner lokal sebagai upaya mendukung industri kreatif dan pariwisata.
