Abstract

Corruption has become a serious problem that threatens economic, social, and political stability in Indonesia. One of the obstacles in eradicating corruption is the lack of special regulations that comprehensively regulate the confiscation of assets resulting from corruption crimes. This study aims to analyze the urgency of forming a law that regulates the confiscation of assets resulting from corruption crimes and identify important content materials that need to be regulated in the law. The research method used is a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach, using relevant primary and secondary legal materials. The results of the study show that the formation of this law is very urgent to overcome the weaknesses of the current legal system, especially in terms of tracking, confiscation, and management of assets resulting from corruption. The law should include effective asset tracking procedures, transparent expropriation procedures, international cooperation for the return of assets across borders, and accountable asset management in the public interest. In addition, the protection of human rights must be the main principle in the implementation of this law. With clear regulations and consistent implementation, it is hoped that efforts to eradicate corruption in Indonesia can run more effectively and have a significant positive impact on society.
