Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has had a positive impact on various sectors, including restaurants. Prospective visitors need recommendations to determine their choices regarding the target restaurant, and this information is obtained from the responses of visitors who have previously visited the restaurant. However, the large number of responses makes it difficult for prospective visitors to determine the restaurant. Based on this discussion, the author tries to conduct research on restaurant recommendations with sentiment analysis of reviews/responses. There are several stages in this research process. In the first stage, restaurant data is collected by giving questionnaires to visitors. Then, sentiment analysis of user responses is carried out, and calculations are performed using the naive bayes algorithm to provide recommendations for Wakatobi restaurants with positive, negative, and neutral sentiments in the categories of food aspects, service aspects, and ambiance aspects. In the final step, black box testing is performed on the web-based application using the naive bayes algorithm. Sentiment analysis of each aspect yields an accuracy value of 83% for the food aspect, 88% for the service aspect, and 86% for the ambiance aspect.
