Abstract

Interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in an organization to achieve its vision and mission, including in the Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS) at SMPN 41 Surabaya. As a student organization that first emerged at the Junior High School (SMP) level, the OSIS Advisor at SMPN 41 Surabaya needs to provide intensive guidance to the OSIS members to realize the organization's work productivity since it is the initial stage of their adaptation to an organizational climate, so that the organization's vision and mission can be achieved. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication between the OSIS Advisor and OSIS Members at SMPN 41 Surabaya in shaping the organization's work productivity. The research method used is qualitative descriptive to describe in-depth the form of interpersonal communication. The object of the research is the communication of the OSIS Advisor to the OSIS members in shaping work productivity, while the OSIS Advisor and OSIS members of SMPN 41 Surabaya are the subjects of this study. The research results show that the OSIS Advisor at SMPN 41 Surabaya applies the use of Relational Framing Theory in the form of power�obedience communication and affiliation-disaffiliation communication to shape the work productivity of the OSIS organization. Through this communication, the OSIS Advisor can control, influence, and establish good relationships with OSIS members, thus encouraging the formation of organizational work productivity.
