PESAN EMANSIPASI WANITA DALAM FILM (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA PADA FILM BIRD’S OF PREY)(1).pdf Download (1MB) |
Abstract
This study aims to determine the results of the semiotic analysis of women's emancipation messages contained in the film Bird's Of Prey by using the Roland Barthes semiotic approach. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation sourced from primary data in the form of VCD (Video Compact Disc) from the film Bird’s of Prey. The analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative and semiotic theory of Roland Barthes and the use of post feminism theory. Taking the subject refers to the figure of Harley Quinn by looking through the terms of the denotation explaining the relationship between the signifier and the signifier in reality, producing an explicit meaning. The connotation explains the relationship of signifiers and markers to non-reality, produces implicit meanings and myths explain habits and beliefs prevailing in society. The analysis shows that there are signs and markers of messages in this film depicted with disdain, injustice due to gender and unyielding attitude by women who struggle for their hard work. Also found elements of womens emancipation, that women must actually be the same as men in any case such as acting, behavior, speech, and mindset. Reject the notion that women are weak people who need protection from a man. The film Birds Of Prey is a cry for womens equality through film. Keywords: Semiotics, Feminism, Connotation, Myth and Emancipation
