Abstract

This thesis is entitled "The Role of the Department of Tourism and Culture in Increasingg Regional Income Belu Regency (PAD)" This was written by Norbertus Darius Ati, NIM: 1112000179, Public Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences , University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya, supervised by: 1. Dr. Bambang Kusbandrjo, MS. , 2. Drs. Supri Hartono, M.S This study aims to determine the objective condition of the role of the Tourism Office in an effort to increase regional income in Belu Regency. The formulation of the problem proposed is: What is the role of the Belu Regency Tourism Office in increasing regional income?. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with seven informants. This research data was collected through observation, interviews and collection of documents - documents. The results of the research that were found by researchers were based on the research focus, namely the Tourism Marketing Development Program, carried out through promotional activities and tourism events that had been implemented. However, faced with the Covid-19 pandemic so that it is prohibited to form a crowd, the Tourism Office carries out tourism marketing and promotion by using and utilizing social media, such as websait, Instagram, Facebook, and the official YouTube channel of the Belu Regency Tourism Office, the Belu Regency Tourism Office also runs several collaborations with hoteliers aimed at increasing regional income. Partnership and Institutional Development Program, this is carried out through the activities of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) creative economy, cooperative relations between the government and the community in tourism development. The activities of these micro, small and medium enterprises have been carried out well, such as the collaboration between the Belu Regency Tourism Office and the weaving groups and the weaving products from the community are promoted or sold during events and festivals so that they are more widely known to the public. outside and the local community about the traditional fabrics of Belu Regency and also the bias of increasing Belu Regency's regional income.
