Abstract
This study aims to understand the symbolic meaning embedded in the fashion of "Hooligan Persib Bandung" using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis through a qualitative interpretative approach. The research involves observing, examining, and analyzing five Instagram posts from @bandungfootballhooligan related to fashion. These posts were carefully selected to cover various key aspects of hooligan fashion under investigation. Each post was chosen based on criteria such as the variety of clothing styles, event or situation context, and representation of hooligan identity symbols. The goal of this research is to explore the denotation, connotation, and myth within the fashion of Hooligan Persib Bandung. Ensuring the validity and reliability of the data was a primary focus in this study. The analysis results led to the conclusion that the social identity symbols in the fashion displayed in the five Instagram posts from @Bandung Football Hooligan reflect more than just fashion choices. These symbols depict the collective identity and solidarity of the Persib Bandung hooligan group. Through their clothing and accessories, they express not only their support for their football team but also convey messages of resistance, unity, and social identity.
