Abstract

The rapid development in the industrial world forces industry players to be required to pay attention to all aspects of business in their efforts to survive in competition, including control of raw material storage for the smooth production process. UD. FDL is an industry engaged in the production of shovels, which in the production process involves several raw materials on a large enough scale, so it is necessary to control raw materials specifically. The production area looks less well organized because access to retrieving finished goods is in the middle of the production area so that it will result in disruption of the production process. In addition, the company is also less specific in calculating the cost of goods produced by only calculating costs in a simple and less complex manner. Controlling raw materials using the inventory turnover ratio method and min-max stock will help the company to find out how long raw materials stay in storage and determine the minimum and maximum stock that can be accommodated by the warehouse. Redesigning the layout using the from to chart method by exchanging several machine areas and moving the finished product warehouse to the front area will smooth the flow on the production floor. As well as determining the cost of goods using the full costing method will ensure that the cost of goods obtained from the calculation results are more accurate. From the calculations carried out on the storage of raw materials, there is a buildup of several raw materials, namely iron plates, iron pipes, screws and welding wires. From the proposed layout design, it is necessary to exchange places between the press machine and the plong machine, and at the cost of production it is known that the calculation using the full costing method is more optimal because there is a difference with the calculation from the factory.
