Abstract

Tinalan Village is a village in Kediri City which is a center for making tofu pies as a typical Kediri City snack. One of the industries in Kediri City is in Tinalan Village. There are many tofu industries in Kediri City that have the potential to be developed into halal product industry clusters, and in Tinalan Village, Kediri City, there are 32 craftsmen who produce tofu in their homes, but currently there are only 16 craftsmen who are still active in producing tofu. So far, tofu craftsmen have been quite oriented towards the progress of their village, business actors in Tinalan Village are aware of the potential they have. Community empowerment, namely developing, self-sufficient, self-sufficient and strengthening the lower levels of society, is carried out to make society independent, especially from poverty, which aims to increase the ability of the community to be able to analyze conditions and potential as well as problems that need to be overcome, and involve the surrounding community. The purpose of this research is to find out how community empowerment through Tahu Business Centers can improve the economy in Tinalan Village, Kediri City according to Soekanto's theory, which has seven stages in empowerment, namely the Preparation Stage, Study Stage, Alternative Program Planning Stage, Action Plan Formalization Stage, Implementation Stage , Evaluation Stage, and Termination Stage. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation and documentation. This research uses primary data and secondary data obtained to show the value of Community Empowerment through Tofu Business Centers to Improve the Economy in Tinalan Village, Kediri City. The results of the research show that problems have been resolved or can be said to be successful, namely achieving indicators of reduced poverty rates, new employment opportunities, and community empowerment in tofu business centers and receiving full support from the Government and institutions such as the Kediri City Cooperatives and MSMEs Service, the City Industry and Trade Service Kediri, as well as sub-districts. So efforts need to be made to realize community welfare through socialization, training, financial aid (capital assistance).
