Abstract

Employee suffrage in elections is an important aspect that highlights the political participation of citizens in a democratic context. This right not only reflects diversity and inclusiveness in a democratic state, but is also an important expression of the fundamental right of every individual to participate in the political process. The importance of protecting employee voting rights from potential risks or pressures that may come from company leaders reflects the complex dynamics between business interests and employee political participation. The connection between business interests and employee political participation can raise ethical issues that demand deep consideration, where business sustainability can conflict with individual democratic rights. This research aims to find out how the responsibility of company leaders related to the protection of employee voting rights in general elections and what sanctions are imposed on company leaders who violate employee voting rights in general elections. The method used in this research is normative juridical with a statutory approach and conceptual approach. The results of this study show that the Company is responsible in terms of moral and legal to protect employee voting rights in elections. They must ensure that every employee can exercise their right to vote freely without pressure or intimidation. The sanctions imposed by the company are criminal, civil, and administrative sanctions. Companies are expected to update clear and firm internal policies to protect employees' political rights. Leaders must actively educate staff about the importance of voting rights and the legal repercussions of obstructing them. In addition, companies must provide a safe and confidential reporting mechanism for employees who experience or witness violations. In addition, the government must conduct strict supervision and follow up on any reports of violations seriously. The application of fair and consistent sanctions, whether criminal, civil, or administrative, should ensure that such violations are not repeated and maintain the integrity of democracy in the workplace.
