Abstract
Motorcycles are a commonly used means of transportation in Indonesia, but they are also highly prone to accidents. Human negligence, including not wearing a helmet, is the cause of most motorcycle accidents. Although conventional helmets are mandatory for motorcyclists, they only provide passive protection. In addition, the efficacy of helmets in the event of an accident cannot be ensured, as riders cannot monitor their condition in real-time. By utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT), an Android-based smart helmet can improve the safety of motorcyclists. The helmet is equipped with sensors that can detect speed, temperature, alcohol, and drowsiness. The helmet can also provide important information to the rider, such as excessive alcohol levels and drowsiness when operating a motorcycle, as well as sudden events, such as excessive speed when the rider is tired. The authors aim to utilize testing techniques as a method to verify the equipment used, in the hope that this will allow riders to implement preventative measures.
