Abstract
Kabupaten Gresik adalah salah satu kabupaten yang dimana minat baca penduduknya rendah, saat ini Kabupaten Gresik mengalami krisis membaca dan generasi muda masyarakat gresik saat ini lebih memilih berlama lamaan bermain game online di HP daripada membaca/berkunjung ke fasilitas bacaan seperti taman baca, perpustakaan, dan sebagainya, dengan adanya permasalahan seperti ini membuat pemerintah daerah untuk bekerja sama dengan Dinas Perpustakaan Dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Gresik terkait untuk mengupayakan agar minat baca masyarakat Gresik meningkat, dan meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan masyarakat terhadap perpustakaan dengan berbagai macam rencana program. Upaya Pemerintah Daerah Gresik diantaranya mengadakan kelas literasi, program wisata perpustakaan anak sekolah (wis puas), mengundang sekolah untuk melakukan kunjungan terjadwal dan mengadakan program dongeng online (dolen). Tugas pokok Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Gresik yaitu untuk membantu Pemerintah Daerah dalam melaksanakan urusan di bidang perpustakaan dan kearsipan serta tugas pembantuan. Dalam pelaksanaan tugas ini terdapat permasalahan dan kekurangan eksternal maupun internal seperti, sarana dan prasarana yang kurang memadai, kurang nya fasilitas yang nyaman untuk pemustaka, fasilitas yang ada belum berstandar nasional perpustakaan RI, dengan adanya hal tersebut perpustakaan saat ini harus bertransformasi (merubah bentuk dan beradaptasi) mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, agar dapat menjawab tantangan zaman dan kebutuhan masyarakat pengguna (pemustaka). Perpustakaan sekarang danke depan tidak lagi hanya menjadi tempat berkumpul untuk membaca buku ataupun mencari informasi. Namun lebih dari sekedar itu, perpustakaan dapat menjadi working space tempat munculnya inovasi-inovasi baru, ide-ide brilliant dan pengembangan kreativitas.
