Abstract

The role of taxes as one of the main sources of state revenue causes tax payments to become a concern for the government. However, on the one hand, the high tax burden on society causes people to be reluctant and disobedient in paying taxes. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of tax socialization, information technology, attitudes, knowledge and abilities on taxpayer awareness, willingness and compliance among individual taxpayers in the city of Surabaya; analyze the influence of Taxpayer Awareness and Willingness on Individual Taxpayer Compliance in the City of Surabaya and analyze Tax Avoidance in moderating the relationship between Taxpayer Awareness and Willingness and Individual Taxpayer Compliance in the City of Surabaya. The research design used in this research is explanatory research. The sample population was 400 individual taxpayer respondents who visited KPP Pratama in KPP Region I East Java. This technique uses a survey method. Sampling from the research population was carried out using proportional random sampling techniques. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique in this research uses Partial Least Square (PLS). The research results prove that the factors that influence Individual Taxpayer Awareness in the City of Surabaya include: Tax socialization variables, attitudes and knowledge. Factors that influence the Willingness of Individual Taxpayers in the City of Surabaya include: tax socialization variables, Attitude, Knowledge, Ability and Awareness have a significant positive influence on the Willingness of Individual Taxpayers in the City of Surabaya. Meanwhile, the factors that influence Taxpayer Compliance of Individual Taxpayers in the City of Surabaya include: Tax socialization variables, Attitudes, Knowledge, abilities and awareness.
